Let's All Go To The Music!

Our Process

We created a derivative piano arrangement with the addition of three trombones and a trumpet which we felt gave the instrumental sections more texture than a simple piano while remaining true to this era. Our singers were comprised of a stellar group of professionals who are known for their uniquely vintage vocal sound. One of them is the soloist on our "Tin Pan Alley" album in our Library. Our horn arranger and trumpeter, Leif Shires, is a collaborator and touring bandmate of Jack White.

Once we had created two period-specific recordings, we used those as "samples" which were then re-combined and remixed as more modern, Boom Bap and other East Coast mash-ups.

Given that this spot features the food of New York, we wanted to incorporate musical elements which are historically characteristic of New York as well. One example is our horn arrangement is a variation on common Dizzy Gillespie and Glenn Miller motifs.

Of course these are demos so they can be re-mixed, re-combined and re-created per your direction. We love to collaborate so we welcome your input!

Thanks for thinking of us for this very fun assignment.
